Plastic Optics
The manufacturing of injection moulded plastic optical components consists of filling a (multi-) cavity of the correct shape in an injection mould-tool with (normally) clear or tinted thermo-plastic material under heat and pressure using an injection moulding machine.Production of plastic optics require very accurate and highly polished tooling and that process, time, pressure and temperature are kept within very tight tolerances
Typical plastic optical components:
LENSES,
PRISMS & light-guides, MIRRORS,
windows & filters
All are often post treated
by: COATINGS
Any of above incorporated
